After just 26 seconds into the game visitors Colwyn Bay took the lead as Ian Sheridan scored from a deflected shot. On the 6th minutes Trafford's striker Scott Barlow came close with a 20 yard shot that went wide.
After the early setback Trafford dominated the first half with the away side conceding free kicks. In the 35th minute unlucky with a rising drive from the edge of the area brilliantly saved by Colwyn Bay's Sanna. Minutes later the away keeper pulled off another great save from Shelton Payne's shot from just inside the area.
Right on half time after several good moves Trafford finally got a deserved equaliser from Scott Barlow's corner Max Kisseh headed down for Melford Knight to volley in from close range.
In the second half Bay continued with their strong arm tactics most of which went unpunished by the referee. Ian Sheridan put Bay in front again with a well timed header after 64 minutes as they started to take control of the game. On 70 minutes Aaron Tyrer produced a magnificent save tipping a well struck shot over the bar.
On 80 minutes after a great run by Paul Ashton his low cross was met by Scott Barlow whose first time shot went harmlessly over the bar. Trafford press hard for the equaliser but Bay held out.

Trafford produced a superb performance on Saturday to defeat Ossett Albion 3-1 and move up in to eighth place in the Unibond League Division One North. With the new centre back partnership of Nia Buyunu and Chris Lawton providing a magnificent backbone, Trafford were on top from the start and after just four minutes Scott Barlow fired across the face of the goal from 15 yards. Home keeper Ben Saynor then saved from Paul Ashton and Shelton Payne before Trafford took the lead in the 36th minute, Payne outpacing Kelsey and pulling the ball back for Glyn Barker to control and fire inside the far post. Ossett's Dale Kelly then headed wide following a free kick from the right and the first half ended with Saynor acrobatically turning a Shelton Payne pile-driver over the crossbar.
Trafford remained in control in the opening stages of the second half and in the 53rd minute Saynor pushed a Scott Metcalfe drive around the post. Shortly afterwards the visitors were denied a clear penalty when Kelsey upended Glyn Barker but Trafford got their just rewards in the 71st minute when a quick punt downfield by goalkeeper Aaron Tyrer released Payne down the right, and he neatly beat his full back before providing Scott Barlow with a simple tap-in from four yards. In the 79th minute the game was as good as over when Ossett's Tom Harban blatantly pulled Barlow back in the penalty area and Payne smashed the resultant penalty past the bewildered Saynor to make it 3-0. Home substitute Joe Thornton chipped wide in the closing stages and then deep into injury time he scored a consolation goal for the Yorkshiremen when he coolly fired home from 12 yards.
