Trafford recorded a comfortable 3-1 win over Ossett Albion in their Evo-Stik League Division One North fixture on Tuesday night but the victory was tarnished by the late dismissal of star keeper Tom Read.
Garry Vaughan's young side were looking to make amends for Saturday's disappointing 2-2 draw at Salford and made the perfect start when, after just two minutes, Tom Bailey seized upon a weak back pass and cooly guided the ball past Luke Herriott.

Skipper Joe Shaw then struck a ground shot inches wide from 30 yards before Ossett created their first chance of any note in the 10th minute when Richard Tracey volleyed just over.
Trafford keeper Tom Read produced a smart save to deny Dale Kelly and on the half hour mark Tommy Turner almost doubled the home sides lead when he dispossessed goalkeeper Herriott but saw his goalbound shot cleared off the line.
The second half began in exactly the same manner as the first with a goal for Trafford in the second minute, Warren Collier making a great run down the left flank and floating in a fine cross that Danny White headed comfortably home from six yards.

Tommy Turner was then denied by Herriott but made it 3-0 in the 61st minute when he beautifully rounded the Ossett keeper and slotted the ball home from an acute angle.
Trafford were now coasting to victory but in the 78th minute Tom Read reacted foolishly to a foul by Shane Kelsey and was sent off for pushing the opposition striker.
Centre half Chris Lawton donned the keeper's jersey but was picking the ball out of the net four minutes later when Ossett were controversially awarded a penalty following an alleged foul by Paul Ashton. Michael Senior stepped forward to convert the spot kick.

Despite this setback, Trafford's ten men held on to their lead without further alarm and so find themselves in fifth place in the league table with four points from their two games.

Two injury time goals rescued a point for Salford after visitors Trafford appeared set for a comfortable victory in their season opener at Moor Lane.
Trafford were in control from the start and after just two minutes Tommy Turner found himself in space on the left but chipped well wide.
Salford keeper Andy Robertson was then quick off his line to clear from Joe Shaw before Turner broke clear in the 11th minute but shot high and wide.
Shaw was the dominant figure as the visitors continued to press forward and in the 18th minute he fired inches over with Robertson stranded.

However, just two minutes later Trafford were rewarded for their superiority when Shaw released Tommy Turner in the inside left channel and he cooly fired past Robertson to put his side ahead.
Shortly afterwards Dean Cooper flashed a drive just wide from 20 yards as the hosts mounted their first attack of any note.
Joe Shaw once again revealed his class on the half hour mark but saw his drive blocked by Robertson and then in 36th minute Salford's Darren Hockenhull linked neatly with Rhodri Giggs but fired well over from 15 yards.
In the 44th minute Trafford doubled their advantage when Salford keeper Robertson failed to hold a deep cross from Kyle Harrop and Warren Collier cooly netted from 10 yards.

The second half began with Joe Shaw firing in a drive from 25 yards that Robertson fumbled behind for a corner but then complacency appeared to creep into the visitors game and Salford were in the ascendancy.
Despite this, the Trafford defence held firm with NiaBayunu and Chris Lawton both in imperious form and Salford were restricted to just one scoring chance when Steve Foster curled a free kick just over from 20 yards.
In the 75th minute Warren Collier fed Danny White who fired inches over from 18 yards and then substitute Andy Lundy crashed a drive against the crossbar from just inside the penalty area.

In the 88th minute Lundy had another great chance to increase Trafford's lead whenhe was sent clear by Tom Bailey but chipped just over the crossbar with only Robertson to beat.
The referee indicated that there would be three minutes of 'injury time' and in the first minute of additional time, Rhodri Giggs swung in a corner from the left that substitute Ben Berrisford headed powerfully into the bottom corner.
Amazingly, just sixty seconds later Salford were on level terms when a cross from the right fell kindly to Steve Foster who nudged the ball home from six yards.

And so a game that had been comfortably in the grasp of an impressive Trafford outfit was cruelly snatched away in the dying seconds although manager Garry Vaughan will no doubt be highly critical of his defences lack of concentration and his forwards inability to convert chances that would have put the game out of sight.
On Saturday, Trafford travel to Barrow for an FA Cup Preliminary Round fixture against Holker Old Boys and then on Bank Holiday Monday they visit championship favourites Lancaster City in a league fixture, both games kicking off at 3 p.m.
